I’m a creative director, copywriter and
brand consultant living and working in the Twin Cities.
I’m a big fan of not knowing what I’m doing. Because if you don’t know what you’re doing, it means you’re doing something new. Over the last 20 years I’ve actually gotten really good at it, and at helping others to do it, too. And for every client I’ve worked with, no matter the industry, not knowing what we are doing together has worked. Because the resulting newness has won business, grown brands, launched products and served people in real, positive, human ways.
I love navigating complexity, adapting to change, solving problems creatively and thinking strategically. And more than anything, I love taking a business challenge somewhere new and unexpected and seeing results.

Contributions
SXSW Interactive Festival // Panel Speaker
Researched, authored and conducted a panel discussion on the topic of 24/7 internet connectivity and the social/physical/mental effects of constant connection on people and brands. Scared the crap out of a lot of people, but also ignited a very positive, and still ongoing, discussion about the responsibilities we have as marketers.
Minneapolis College of Art and Design // Adjunct Faculty
Constructed and conducted senior-level writing course for ad/marketing track with focus on creative integration and brand systems across channels. Still in use today.
Owen and Alex Scherbring // Children // 2013, 2015
Two sons, currently 12 and 9, who are independent, smart, artistic, independent, athletic, funny, independent, and also independent. They lead and support me through life, teaching me patience, priority, perspective and how to apply pressure to wounds.
